Hectograms to Grams formula
To convert hectograms to grams, multiply by 100.
g = hg × 100
Put another way, one hectogram is exactly 100 grams.
Why this factor: the hectogram and the gram are both defined against the kilogram, so dividing one definition by the other gives 100 directly. Both definitions are set out in full below.
To go the other way, divide by 100 — or use the Grams to Hectograms converter, which is the same calculation reversed.
Worked example
Given 2 hg, multiplying by 100 yields 200 g.
2 hg × 100 = 200 g
The converter above does this for any value you type, in either direction.
