How the Invoice Generator works
Builds a clean, printable invoice from line items, with subtotal, tax and total calculated automatically — and opens it in a print-ready window you can save as PDF.
Each line's amount is quantity times unit price. Those are summed into a subtotal, tax is applied to that subtotal, and the total is the sum of the two.
line = qty × price, subtotal = Σ lines, total = subtotal + tax
Worked example
Two lines — 10 hours at $85 and a $200 fixed fee — give a $1,050 subtotal. At 8% tax that is $84, for a $1,134 total.
Things worth knowing
- Everything is generated in your browser. No client details, rates or amounts are uploaded anywhere.
- A usable invoice needs an invoice number, issue date, payment terms, and both parties' details. Missing any of these is the most common reason for slow payment.
- Sequential invoice numbers matter for bookkeeping and for most tax authorities.

How do I save it as a PDF?
Click Download / Print, then pick 'Save as PDF' as the destination in your browser's print dialog.
What payment terms should I use?
Net 30 is the common default. Net 14 or 'due on receipt' pays faster and is normal for small engagements and new clients.
Is there a watermark or signup?
No — it's free, no account, and no watermark on your invoice.
