Dice Roller & Coin Flip
Roll a die or flip a coin — fair, instant and random.
How to use
- Tap Roll d6 or Roll d20 to roll a die.
- Tap Flip coin for heads or tails.
- Each result is independent and random.
How the Dice Roller & Coin Flip works
Rolls virtual dice and flips coins using cryptographic randomness — for tabletop games, decisions and any time the physical dice are missing.
Each roll draws from the browser's cryptographic random source and maps uniformly onto the die's faces, so every outcome is equally likely and independent of the last.
each face equally likely · two d6 sum: 7 most likely (6/36), 2 and 12 least (1/36)
Worked example
Rolling two six-sided dice gives 36 equally likely combinations, but the sums are not uniform — seven appears six ways, twelve only one.
Things worth knowing
- Rolls are independent. A run of sixes does not make the next six less likely; believing otherwise is the gambler's fallacy.
- Adding dice narrows the distribution toward the middle, which is why 3d6 clusters near 10–11 while 1d20 is flat.
Frequently asked questions
Are the rolls fair?
Yes — each outcome uses the browser's random generator and every face is equally likely.
Can I roll bigger dice?
Use d20 for tabletop games; d6 is the classic six-sided die.
Is this genuinely random?
It uses the platform's cryptographic random source, which is far better than typical software randomness and more than adequate for games.
Why do I keep getting the same number?
Real randomness clusters more than intuition expects. Streaks in a short run are normal.
